LAST WEEK'S ROUND UP:  Business started up on Tuesday again 
last week and ran through Thursday, with only a little 
cleanup on Friday. Northern dressed deals had a full range of 
$158 to $162, mostly $160, roughly $2 higher than the 
previous week. The Southern live price range was $95 to $98, 
mostly $97, about $1 higher than the prior week. Colorado 
deals were marked at $97 to $99, steady to $1 higher than the 
previous week. According to Thursday's Mandatory summary 
reports weekly accumulated totals are as follows (the prior 
week's weighted averages are listed in parentheses): KS 
$96.87($95.68); NE $160.03($158.15); TX $95.96($96.55); IA 
$160.01($158.04); CO $97.85($97.75). 

According to the Friday afternoon Mandatory reports weekly 
trade volumes were as follows: KS 28,654; NE 21,946; TX 
13,464; IA 26,962; CO 1,862. Friday's slaughter was estimated 
at 113,000 head, even with the prior week, but 2,000 below 
last year. Saturday's slaughter was estimated at 51,000 head, 
bringing the weekly total to 638,000 head, 8,000 smaller than 
the prior week, but 5,000 larger than 2019. 

DTN MORNING COMMENTS:  The country is quiet this morning with 
both buyers and sellers busy taking inventory. Bids and asking 
prices are not established. Significant trade volume may be 
delayed until Tuesday or later. Beef cutouts are expected to be 
mixed with generally light box movement.

For the week ending July 25, 2020, Imported Beef Passed for 
Entry in the U.S. totaled 46,139, 109.33% of the previous week 
and 117.36% of the 4-week average.
