The Build Back Better Act includes more than $1 trillion in tax provisions while increasing spending on Democratic priorities such as addressing climate change, as well as health care costs, child care, education and immigration. The House voted after months of inner-party debate among Democrats that scaled back the plan. Still, passage of the bill in the equally divided Senate remains uncertain.
